LA ROCCA. Rare real estate complex called “Rocca Farnese” or Castello Farnese. In carrying out the exclusive mandate received from the Episcopal Diocese of the Vicariate of Rome, IMMOBILI DI PRESTIGIO is pleased to offer for sale the historic noble residence located in the Municipality of Fabrica di Roma (VT), in Via della Rocca - Via Alberto Cencelli 12. A few kilometers from Rome in the beautiful Lazio countryside, the precious medieval castle La Rocca represents one of the symbolic places of the Lazio Middle Ages dating back to the 13th century.

The "La Rocca" Castle of Fabrica di Roma can be seen from afar, with the high tower that stands out over the village, maintaining its rare beauty over the centuries. Its dominant position, the imposing consolidated Tower, make it the most emblematic place to admire in the historic center, representing the "history" of the Municipality, from the Middle Ages to the early 1900s.
The Fortress is part of the so-called castle phenomenon. It is made with the local technique called Petrella Viterbo, the perfect exposed stone exteriors characterize it, giving it the requirement of immutability.
At the end of the 14th century, La Rocca had the appearance it has today: two circular towers, the square shape, the tower that stands out, the beautiful staircase and the noble apartments. A rare pearl.

This is its structure:
- a first level, on the ground floor, of approximately 600.00 m2, with three magnificent halls and the tower room on Via Alberto Cencelli, the other rooms and services on Via della Rocca, enriched by the beautiful internal courtyard of approximately 115, 00 m2; environments whose charm can only be "visited" (impossible to describe);
- The second level, mezzanine floor, also reachable by a beautiful internal staircase from the ground floor, of approximately 120.00 m2, beautiful (worth seeing);
- a third level, first floor, of approximately 600.00 m2, with three large halls, three rooms including the tower room, a terrace of approximately 45.00 m2 and a balcony overlooking the internal courtyard (exciting);
- the fourth level, second floor, of approximately 350.00 m2, with three large rooms from 30.00 to 75.00 m2, kitchens and services (an embrace of light);
- fifth and sixth levels, third and fourth floors, for a total of approximately 80.00 m2 (at the top of Tuscia).
For a total of:
Approximately 1,750.00 m2 covered
180.00 m2 uncovered
1,820.00 commercial m2

THE RENAISSANCE AND THE TOWER
The fortress was built by the Prefects of Vico, in 1308 Manfredi di Vico sold it to Cardinal Napoleone Orsini, then it passed to the Hospital of Santo Spirito in Sassia in 1367. In 1454 the complex was restored by the Church, as shown by the epigraph with the coat of arms of Nicolò V and the coats of arms on the architraves of the windows. In 1536 La Rocca was granted to Lucrezia della Rovere, as demonstrated by the coat of arms with the acorns of the Della Rovere family. In 1539 it returned to the ownership of the Santo Spirito Hospital and subsequently to the Apostolic Chamber. The latter sells it to the Farnese family.
The construction of the Tower was the work of Alessandro Farnese. Lover of scholars and artists, he is the same instigator of the frescoes in Rome and Caprarola. The walls of the Tower are 2 meters thick and it is 40 meters high.
At the end of the 14th century, La Rocca had the appearance it has today: two circular towers, a square shape, a prominent tower, a beautiful staircase and the noble apartments.

FROM THE SEVENTEENTH CENTURY TO THE PRESENT
In 1629 a section of the walls were demolished to allow access to the water source that was outside the castle.
In 1666 the Duchies of Castro and Ronciglione were incorporated into the Papal State. Benedict XIV grants the Chamber of Commerce assets of Fabrica to Stefano and Leopoldo Cencelli. This important family, from which the current Town Hall also takes its name, bought the castle towards the end of the nineteenth century.
In 1895 Alberto Cencelli demolished the highest part of the tower because it was unsafe. It seems that the structure, which is located in the area known as "the cell", hosted prisons for a period.
The last private owner of the castle was Countess Mariani Bianchi Ninni, who restored the interiors and brought back some wonderful ornamental paintings. Finally, the ownership of the splendid manor returns to the Church which, today, gives this company the delicate task of entrusting it into the hands of a new Owner, destined to enter its history!
